The 5 Best Kid-Friendly Wineries Near Spencer's Crossing

Updated: Jan 18, 2020

We are so blessed to live close to the Temecula wineries here in Spencer’s Crossing. It only takes 15 minutes to get to the edge of Rancho California and into Temecula Wine Country!

There are so many amazing wineries to go to, but many of them are not family friendly and have tasting rooms that are strictly 21+. With that said, our family has found a few wineries that are more kid friendly than others!

Here are my five favorite family friendly wineries for those days when you have the kids with you but you just want a glass of vino!

Wilson Creek is possibly the most family friendly winery that we’ve found. They are very friendly to kids, allow kids in their shop near the tasting area and in the restaurant, and have lawns that you can walk around. They are known for their incredible champagne! If you haven’t tried Wilson Creek’s Almond Champagne you are missing out!

We like to go there to celebrate when we have the kids in tow. It’s especially fun to go to their Bubbly Brunch on Sundays. It can be pretty busy so a reservation may be a good idea, but the brunch is an incredible buffet that includes an amazing selection of meats, egg dishes, pastries, salads, and even… mini Donut Bar Donuts! Which ironically are a regular size, when compared to their normal donuts which are the size of a kid's face!

Peltzer is known for having amazing events that you can bring the family to. This is our favorite winery to go to during the fall when they have their Pumpkin Patch. They have a food truck there and you can send one parent into the tasting room to grab some glasses and sit out on the patio with your family.

It is a beautiful winery, perched on a hill, with incredible views of the Temecula valley and gorgeous vineyards.

The Bottaia Winery is an incredible winery to check out! It has a modern farmhouse vibe and the wines are fresh and incredible. The winery and tasting rooms are all 21+, however… They allow children at the pool. They also have an incredible poolside cafe where you can order wine, cocktails and food.

The lot that they are positioned on has some of the most incredible views of any winery we have been to! It has a straight shot of the beautiful vines and has a majestic mountain view! It’s modern and when at the pool, it’s mom, dad and kid friendly!

Wiens is known for their family friendly environment and lawn, and also for their Big Red Wines. If you like red wine and have your kids in tow, this is definitely the place to go. Just know that they need to stay out of the Barrel Room and Cellar which are 21+.

Oak Mountain Winery is a super fun winery because they have a restaurant in a cave! This is especially exciting for kids, and their staff is incredibly friendly. It’s a great place to hide away in a cave, enjoy delicious food and sip some high quality wine. They also have a hillside lot, so our kids enjoyed running down the hills through the vines!

These are the top five wineries that I have visited and loved. Did I miss your favorite local kid-friendly winery in the Temecula Valley? Let us know in the comments!
